Why Take International Studies?

The overall objective of the IS programme is to prepare students for employment in careers which have international focus. Students will obtain a heightened awareness of the social, cultural, and economic realities of the world we live in. International Studies graduates will be better able to work and interactwith other cultures, act as liaisons, work independently in foreign settings, and develop research and critical thinking skills. With these skills, IS students will increase their chances of employment in development work, government and non-government sectors, academia, immigrant and refugee services, private business, internationally based trade unions, tourism, international law, and journalism.
