
Accomplishments
- On Wednesday, January 23, 2008, the Associated Alumni and the Faculty of Arts sponsored an Arts Alumni Panel discussion. This included Alumni from the Bachelor of Arts Degree who are currently working in the Greater Saint John area.

- Dr. Joanna Everitt, Department of History & Politics, received the Dr. Allan P. Stuart Memorial Award For Excellence in Teaching.
- The Faculty of Arts would like to congratulate Jayne Jones on earning the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick Silver Medal for outstanding academic achievement over the last half of her BA degree with Honours in Politics.
- A UNB Distinguished Service Award was presented to Tracey Chiasson, Administrative Coordinator for the Faculty of Arts, for her outstanding service to the university and the community at large on April 25, 2007.
- Dr. Dann Downes, Department of Social Science, was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) in March 2007.
- In February 2007, Dr. Paul Gendreau (retired Professor of Psychology) was named an Officer to the Order of Canada for his
significant contribution to the field of Correctional Psychology in Canada and the world. At the 2007 Spring Convocation, Dr. Gendreau was named Professor Emeritus for his extensive research and publications of exceptionally high quality.
- Dr. Leslie Jeffrey, Department of History and Politics, in collaboration with Dr. Gayle MacDonald from St. Thomas University have had their book "Sex Workers in the Maritimes Talk Back" published by UBC Press.
- Dr. Greg Marquis, Department of History and Politics, received a UNB Merit Award for 2006-2007 for his outstanding contributions to the university.
- In March 2007 Tanya Pitt, Student Coordinator for the Faculty of Arts, was awarded an Academic Advising Excellence Award from Region One of the National Academic Advising Association.
