Daniel Downes, Ph.D (McGill)
 

 

Professor Downes currently the program coordinator and is responsible for courses in the Technology, Information and Society area of concentration. He is interested in the relationships between new technologies and various forms of social regulation and law, the history of communication technologies, and the psychological dimensions of media use. His research explores issues pertaining to cultural diversity, communication technologies and the regulation of the new media economy. He has published articles on intellectual property and copyright, new media regulation, the changing nature of the audience.
