Graduate Studies in Psychology
Ph.D. is offered jointly with UNB-Fredericton. Programs in Clinical Psychology and Experimental and Applied Psychology are available.
M.A. (Experimental Psychology);
Director: Dr. Lilly Both .
The MA degree program focuses on Experimental Psychology. Students are required to take 2 statistics courses (Psychology 6013 and 6014), 4 proseminar courses (Psychology 6103, 6203, 6303, and 6403), and one additional special topics course tailored to the student's needs. In addition, all students must complete a Masters Thesis (Psychology 6997) that makes an original contribution to the body of knowledge that comprises the field of psychology. The MA degree program is of 2 years duration and is designed for students intending to pursue a PhD degree in psychology.
Admittance into the MA program is limited. Normally, entering students have a BA (Honours) degree in psychology and competitive scores on both the general and psychology section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Applying students are also encouraged to contact individual faculty members that share their research interests.
More detailed information on the graduate programs can be found here or by emailing Dr. Lilly Both.
