The Jeux Canada Games Stadium features a 400-metre track and a grass field used for varsity and intramural soccer, and other sports like flag football and cricket. Examples of some events held at the Stadium in the past include: local/regional/national track & field and soccer; international soccer matches, national archery events, and regional and national police dog trials.

The G. Forbes Elliot Athletics Centre features a fitness room with aerobic and weight training equipment and a table tennis room with five tables. The gymnasium has an indoor track and a variety of courts that allow users to play everything from soccer and basketball to volleyball and tennis or badminton, all at the same time. The facility has been the host facility for many local, regional, national and international events in the past, such as cheerleading, basketball, fencing, and badminton.

Rental opportunities are available for the Canada Games Stadium and the G. Forbes Elliot Athletics Centre. All rental inquiries should be directed to Dave Munro (munro@unbsj.ca, 648-5532) .

UNB Saint John also has a fitness and nature trail located behind the Athletics Centre that extends through the university’s wooded park area in case you’re interested in conditioned jogging or simply want to take a leisurely stroll between classes.

Memberships

UNBSJ faculty, staff and students require valid UNB identification cards for access to athletics facilities.  Additionally, the Athletics Department sells membership passes to the general public. A member has access to all facilities subject to posted schedule of activities. Members are also eligible to take part in any of the regular fitness classess offered by the department.  Participation fees may apply to some of the "specialty" classes offered (e.g., tai chi, yoga, etc.).

Members must abide by parking regulations on campus - the Athletics, Recreation and Wellness Department DOES NOT deal with parking issues.  ALL vehicles parked on campus must display a yearly or daily UNB parking permit or park in metered areas.
