The Saint John River Watershed and Saint John Harbour; An Environmental History

Mr. Tim Vickers, Executive Director, The Atlantic Coastal Action Program Saint John

This project will highlight the major environmental affects of industrialization of the greater Saint John area. The project will expand upon research conducted in 2004 in which the morphology of urban watercourses was altered to meet the infrastructure needs of a developing city. Additional topics will include predominant sources of point and non-point source contamination of watercourses, air pollution, solid waste management, the fragmentation of urban green spaces, and the affects of major fires on the landscape.
