Wireless Network to be Expanded

Wireless networking

Integrated Technology Services (ITS) is busy planning the expansion of the wireless network to the entire campus. By September 2007, you will be able to connect to the network wherever you happen to be at UNBSJ, whether in a classroom, an office, the study lounge or just about anywhere else!

Andrew Xu, a communications expert for the ITS Department explains, “We are now testing various configurations of hardware and software, to make sure that our new wireless system works all the time, all over campus. Simulations show that we will be able to offer faculty, students and staff access to the network at all times, and with just about all wireless devices available now or in the foreseeable future.”

Besides making the wireless network in Saint John campus wide, users here will be able to connect to the wireless network at the Fredericton campus seamlessly and quickly. Keep following this blog for more information and news as the project moves forward.
