The Primrose Scholarship was developed by UNB Saint John alumna Sandra Irving (BA 95) to recognize students who have demonstrated leadership potential.  She led the way in fundraising activities to establish the scholarship in 1999.  Mrs. Irving continues to be involved with the winners and in the stewardship of the scholarship. 

The first scholarship was awarded in 2000 to a new first year student entering UNB Saint John. A single Primrose Scholarship has been awarded to a new incoming student each year ever since.
