Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism (BAMHT)

Jessica Stotesbury, BAMHT '05

Hospitality and Tourism is one of the world's most exciting and fastest growing industries! If you enjoy traveling, working with people and learning about different cultures, then this is the business for you. Hospitality and Tourism can overlap with so many other interests that you'll be able to develop a career that suits you, whether it's in food, transportation, the great outdoors or market analysis.

You will study core business areas like accounting, marketing and finance along with topics such as sustainable tourism, events management, resort planning and heritage management. You'll go out into the field to talk to people who work in unique hospitality and tourism sectors.

There are two ways to complete a BAMHT:

  • Direct Entry 3+1 allows you to complete a one year certificate at NBCC St. Andrews (completed in the second year of studies) and the degree all in four years.
  • Transfer Entry 2+2 allows you to transfer credit from an approved two year hospitality and tourism diploma, complete two more years at UNB Saint John and graduate with the BAMHT.

Work Experience

The hospitality and tourism industries require students to have practical experience as well as academic qualifications, so you will be encouraged to gain work experience in an area of interest. You can find your own work or take part in the Co-op program.
