You have been at UNB for at least a year (24 credit hours), studied hard and achieved good grades. You may be eligible for a scholarship!
Requirements
Continuing UNB students who have completed at least 24 credit hours of undergraduate courses at UNB in the previous year and are planning to return to full_time study at UNB in the upcoming year, may be considered for a scholarship.
Preference is given to Dean’s List students, or students who have at least a 3.7 Scholarship GPA. (Part_time students who plan to attend on a full_time basis may be considered for scholarship support based on their last 24 credit hours of UNB courses, but they should contact the Undergraduate Awards Office to let us know of their intention.)
A Scholarship GPA is calculated at the end of the assessment year (May to April) provided that 24 credit hours or more have been attempted, regardless of program. For students involved in work placement programs, such as Co_op or PEP, the Scholarship GPA is calculated using the Dean’s List criteria. For PEP, Articulated Degree students or students on an official exchange program, who have been away from UNB from May to April in the previous year as part of their degree program, the Scholarship GPA will be based on their most recent work at UNB. This GPA is held internally and is not displayed on the student’s transcript of record.
Deadlines
Students currently enrolled at UNB in an undergraduate degree program are encouraged to apply for scholarship support each year between January 15th and April 15th. Successful recipients are notified during the summer.
Online Application
UNB has over 200 scholarships available to continuing UNB students on BOTH campuses, but you need to complete only ONE scholarship application form. The application form is found on the UNB website, through My UNB E_Services under the Academic tab.
Responding to Offers
As long as you are enrolled in 12 credit hours, 4 courses each term, your scholarship will be applied against your account at UNB, equally split between the Fall and Winter terms of the upcoming year. A refund cheque is issued only when the amount of the total scholarship support exceeds the value of tuition and compulsory fees.
You do not need to formally accept your scholarship - it will be waiting for you to return to UNB. If you are not returning to UNB, it would be appreciated if you would notify the Undergraduate Awards Office so that we are able to provide that scholarship to another eligible UNB student.
UNB is very fortunate to have the support of many donors. In the event that your scholarship is sponsored by a specific donor, you will be notified of the donor’s contact information. We encourage you to write a thank-you note to the donor. We know that they truly appreciate hearing from you.
