Reporting Academic Offences
Academic offences range from plagiarism to various forms of cheating (on tests/exams, falsifying credentials, impersonating another, etc). In each instance an instructor should meet and discuss the incident in question with the student, following which an academic incident report is made to the Registrar’s Office. The Registrar’s Office informs the student a charge has been made, providing the individual with information as to the regulations and the penalties that may be imposed. Students are encouraged to respond in writing within a three-week period, following which the matter will be taken to the Senate Appeals Committee. It is at this level the final determination will be made and the student will be so informed.

The regulations related to Academic Offences may be found in the current UNB calendar or may be viewed via the web.
