Responsibilities: Working with a team of IT professionals the Co-op Application Specialist will be given increasingly challenging assignments to analyze business requests and implement solutions within the document collaboration space. During the term the Co-op analyst gain experience with the Microsoft SharePoint application and how to effectively apply it to enhance business effectiveness. Work within the team to deliver service requests and support projects for the J.D. Irving Limited companies: Review customer requirements with business solutions team to ensure clear understanding of the functional requirements Participation in solution determination Develop and fulfill end user requirements for reporting and analysis Ensure customer satisfaction of the solution with regular communication during the process and follow up after delivery. Requirements: Desired Skills and knowledge include: Microsoft Office Data base management (SQL is preferred) Business or Industry experience Strong communications skills (English) both written and verbal Experience with business intelligence applications like Cognos would be an asset Experience with collaboration toolsets like Microsoft SharePoint is an asset Java or .Net programming experience would be an asset Education: Currently enrolled in and returning to Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In good academic standing. Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related program with an interest in applying information technology in the business, operations management and process improvement.
