Eleven teams of students from high schools across New Brunswick competed Friday, May 9th in the Second Annual New Brunswick High School
Programming Competition. The problem set
presented to the teams at UNB Saint John, the University of Moncton and St. Mary's University in Nova Scotia was
challenging. At the UNB Saint John competition, a team of one student successfully
completed five programs within the 3 hour time frame to snag the top position. The second and third place teams
completed four successfully running programs. All teams in the competition solved at least one problem.
In addition to the wonderful prizes, all students in the top three teams received bursaries from UNB Saint John's Vice-President, Dr. Kathryn Hamer,
to be used toward first year tuition in UNB Saint John's four year BScCS computer science degree program.
